Does anyone believe anything they read anymore?
So while you were all off galavanting around downtown Seattle, snapping up tons of pictures, I was scoping out the Center for Media Justice site, looking at their latest news briefs. The first one that popped up, dated July 18, 2008 (or three days ago), was a piece talking about a study done recently in California that revealed that less than 20% of the people polled believed most to all of what they read in various media publications.
Okay, while it’s true that “media” can be used to discuss trashy tabloids that rarely print the truth, this still undercuts legit media publications such as the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and various other newspapers, magazines, etc.
How much of the media do you think is true/do you believe when you read it?
Just something to ponder when you’re bored, I suppose…
